The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Hybrid, provides patient care in accordance with established methods and techniques and conforms to recognized standards. The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) assists practitioners in performing procedures, telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records and relaying test results.
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position 50% remote and 50% in clinic providing direct patient care.
Successful remote performance will require a designated space at home conducive to a productive work environment, quiet and without distraction, ensuring HIPAA rules and patient confidentiality is secure.
- You must have a home office set up that will allow you to speak privately and maintain confidentiality with patients. If you live alone, that could be your living room, but if there are any other people at home with you while you are working, you will need to be in a room with a door that shuts.
Please note that this role is not compatible with being the caregiver for young children or dependent adults during your scheduled shift – your focus must be entirely on your patients and your patient interactions must be private.
Employee must reside within driving distance to a Clinic facility within the state of Oregon.
This position follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards document. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within
- Directs patient flow and prepares patients for exams
- Obtains chief complaint, patient history, vital signs, and any other pertinent information and ensures accurate documentation in the EHR in a timely manner
- Retrieves and communicates laboratory and radiology test results and instructs patients regarding medications and treatment per practitioner’s instructions
- Accepts and returns patient phone calls in a timely manner, as per provider direction, with accurate documentation
- Assists providers with clinical procedures as directed per national standards of practice
- Improves the quality of care through continuing education and self-evaluation of the effectiveness of care. This includes attendance and participation in most in-services/department meetings and remaining current on clinic/department policies and procedures
- Proactively monitors provider schedules for accuracy
- Performs injections under direct supervision of provider per clinic policy, as needed
- Actively participate in the cleaning of shared work areas. Keeping exam rooms clean, neat and stocked
- Participates in the orientation and training of new employees

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate from a medical assistant program required (AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required
- 1+ years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant
- Technology experience – preferably with multiple EHR systems, but at a minimum familiar with Microsoft
- Proven ability to collaborate well with providers, clinical staff, and patients
- Proven to maintain patients’ privacy, confidentiality, and safety, and adhering to ethical, legal, and accreditation/regulatory standards always
- Office and comfortable learning new software quickly. Experience with Athena a plus. Intermediate computer and telephone skills
- Proven ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work
- Proven ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations
- Proven ability to work with a diverse population and understand the age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers
- Proven ability to tactfully discuss issues and develop cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time
Technology Requirements:
- You should have fast and reliable internet, i.e., internet speed equal to or greater than 300 Mbps for download and 30 Mbps upload; please note that satellite internet service is not sufficient for this role.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
