UMR Accessibility and WCAG Liaison – Remote

We are seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Accessibility & WCAG Liaison to join our UMR TPA Communications and Digital Solutions team. This role is responsible for ensuring accessibility compliance across UMR’s Digital platforms, as well as content like pdfs that are accessed via our digital platforms, including UMR platforms, UHC platforms and vendor platforms. The position requires a solid emphasis on consulting with SMEs from the UHG Accessibility Center of Excellence (ACOE), cross-functional collaboration with UMR colleagues and departments, and client engagement.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal UMR and other Enterprise SMEs across design, development, content, and compliance to ensure accessibility is embedded into the all digital product lifecycles (portals, native apps, email, etc.), following the Enterprise ACOE guidelines and best practices
• Tag and remediate digital documents (e.g., PDFs) to ensure they meet accessibility standards and are optimized for assistive technologies
• Coordinate updates and remediation efforts with clients, ensuring timely delivery of accessibility improvements and clear communication of progress and blockers
• Coordinate with the Enterprise ACOE to request accessibility audits of websites, mobile apps, and digital documents, as well as to enforce best practices for design and development accessibility compliance as we create and maintain digital products
• Store relevant accessibility documentation, including VPATs, statements, and audit reports created by the Enterprise ACOE, as well as maintain timelines for such documentation

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in digital accessibility, usability, or a related digital production or content management field
• Experience working directly with clients in a consulting or advisory capacity, including presenting findings to clients and updating clients on a regular cadence
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and internal initiatives simultaneously
• Proven excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Proven solid project coordination skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Agile or similar development environments
• Familiarity with WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, and ADA compliance
• Familiarity tagging and remediating documents for accessibility
• Familiarity with assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and voice recognition software
• Passion for inclusive design and digital equity

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $71,200 to $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
