For Medicare Advantage plans, the UCard is how members access and unlock the value of their benefits. A single card that does it all means subtle yet important differences amongst our portfolio of plans. Member and provider experiences hinge on the nuance of every card. Plan level details including logos, copays, provider network information, key contact data elements, legal and regulatory disclaimers, and more help provide immediate access to care for millions of our UHC Medicare Advantage members. Each year the complex journey from plan setup to information technology platforms to printed cards is curated by the product team to deliver accurate and compliant UCards for members and providers.

As a Product Manager for UCard, you will have direct responsibility for a portfolio of health plans’ UCards. You will work directly with Product team members, health plan leaders, and delegation partners to gather requirements, update and maintain sources of truth, conduct quality assurance tests, and support your respective plans issues and questions.

In this role, we depend on your influence and communication skills to work with and negotiate card customization solutions with health plans and our business and vendor print partners. Your skills manipulating and managing large data sets will be put to the test as you manage thousands of plan card configurations and will be challenged to deliver 100% quality for compliance, member experience, and provider access. You will also be instrumental in various initiatives throughout the organization as a decision-maker and subject matter expert for the plans you service.  

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan-Level Card Customization:
    • Work with the MA Product UCard team to align to design, policies, and programs for the upcoming year
    • Provide communication and training to health plan market leads and audit support resources
    • Partner with marketing to determine how logos, plan names and trademarks are impacted
    • Engage health plan leads, delegation teams, and legal/compliance to gather and maintain card configuration requirements for your portfolio of UCards
    • Proactively identify design or customization challenges early and work cross-functionally to resolve prior to production
    • Work with print partners to resolve and QA card customizations where required
    • Create mockups to assist with state approvals or customization iterations 
  • Quality Management:
    • Maintain UCard data in MAPS for your portfolio of UCards (6k configurations)
    • Implement and practice good data hygiene practices in uploads and documentation
    • Pull daily reports to monitor for any changes to UCard data that affects your plans
    • Conduct QA checks on data pre and post upload into MAPS
    • Develop and execute annual audit plans for your portfolio of UCards in partnership with health plan market leads and support resources
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, implement, and track benefits
    • Create and maintain quality reports daily
  • Health Plan and Benefit Ops Support:
    • Act as a subject matter expert and resource for your portfolio of UCards
    • Be an active team member on health plan calls responsible for your portfolio of plans
    • Be the primary contact for UCard issues for your portfolio of plans
    • Work with Materials strategy team to implement plan-specific changes to the UCard Kit or Welcome Letter discovered through these active partnerships
    • Manage issues to resolution and document all results, including corrections to MAPS, letters to members, card reprints, and compliance reporting
    • Create annual list of lessons learned, communicate to the MA Product team, and manage mitigation plans for the upcoming year 
  • UCard Program Support:
    • Support major UCard initiatives in various capacities as the UCard, it’s financial payment methods, materials, and more strategies are required to innovate and change in coming years
    • Document and communicate core experience impacts specific to your portfolio of plans for the UCard Program lead

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of healthcare insurance experience 
  • 3+ years of quality assurance and/or auditing 
  • 3+ years of advanced Excel experience (Pivot Tables, VLookup, and data manipulation)
  • Ability to travel 5%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in forecasting, scheduling, and financial tracking
  • Experience or familiarity with M&R systems such as GPS, MAPS, COSMOS, and CSP 
  • Experience with developing creative materials and presentations to large groups and senior leadership with ability to present verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of the annual product/bid Medicare planning process
  • Demonstrated ability of working with urgency in managing projects or time sensitive commitments
  • Proven excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a matrix environment
  • Proven solid problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to interface and present to senior management effectively
  • Proven ability to use excellent collaboration skills, drive for results and organizational excellence
  • Proven organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity
  • Proven ability to quickly aggregate and analyze information and draw conclusions

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
