We are searching for a leader to join our Patient and Provider Solutions team within the Optum Life Sciences organization to be a vital part of its success in 2025. The Patient and Provider Solutions business is the newest business formed under Life Sciences. It is bringing to market leading products and technologies that solve our Life Sciences client’s challenges in the Therapeutic Areas they work in across the UHG Enterprise populations (Optum Health, UHC, ORx, OSP, OFT). Successful leaders must have an entrepreneurial spirit—are innovative by nature and are always working to create new approaches to provide products and services. We are looking for people who strive to lead—lead clients, internal teams, and initiatives—and who can develop solid relationships both internally and externally. This leader will report directly to the Business Unit head and needs to work fast, be fluid, comfortable working with leaders in our organization as well as at our clients, collaborate across teams, and take concepts to fully vetted and approved proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs) through the contracting process. We offer access to data analysts, clinical experts, technology and product strategy teams and the resources of our parent company to drive unique data and research opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Growth team and business leaders to drive growth for the Patient and Provider Solutions business with Life Sciences clients
- Bring qualified pipeline opportunities from the Growth/Client Executive team to proposal and contract stage supporting a business goal of $100M in TCV in 2025
- Work with data team to perform any requested feasibility analyses by population
- Present detailed recommendations to clients; participate in demos; lead follow up on bespoke contract needs
- Ensure Compliance, Privacy, Legal (CPL) reviews of all contracts
- Document history of new business wins and losses and reasons why
- Help build a templated proposal strategy for all PPS products
- Must be able to put together financial components of proposals and lead through any client FMV processes
- Develop productive working relationships with the Client Executives and other SMEs in the business to ensure we are responding and solving for client needs in a timely manner
- Work with Client leadership teams to define long range strategic plans for the PPS business
Leadership:
- Drive forward the strategic vision and growth strategy for the PPS team
- Represent the PPS team and products at senior executive meetings with client when necessary
- Work across the PPS team, Growth team, and Product teams to understand client challenges, feedback, and how our solutions can fill those client challenges
- Thoughtfully strategize and plan client-ready presentations with the right product recommendations and internal sponsors
- Consult with life sciences clients on product implementation status and proactively identify opportunities for expansion on product either as multi-year deal or add on of another product
- Work with core PPS teams and marketing to advance dissemination of results via manuscript, reports, and conference presentations
- Coordinate with other intercompany resources to support your business
- Grow the business through client relationships, new service offerings, and a reputation of consistently superior customer service and quality
Contract Development and Pull-through:
- Provide expert consultation and solutions for life sciences clients (including, but not limited to development of proposals)
- Manage client relationships in close partnership with growth office colleagues, client presentations
- Grow business through existing client relationships, new service offerings, and a reputation of consistently superior customer service and quality
- Create new client proposals, concepts, content and pull through to contracting. Continues to provide client service from transition from proposal to implementation
- Management of custom/bespoke contracts specifications and FMV requirements with clients
- Manages redlines on proposals, content edits, budgeting FMVs for specific clients, master proposal templates across products

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare
- 2+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience with strategic sales and client management
- Experience presenting new concepts and products to clients
- Experience with Proposal writing within tight deadlines
- Demonstrated and proven proficiency using MS PowerPoint (i.e. creation, development, and execution of presentations to Sr. Leadership and stakeholders)
- Demonstrated experience working autonomously as well as being a proven collaborator and team contributor
- Proven development of budgets for the purpose of Proposal writing, and working with legal and contracting teams to complete submissions
- Ability to/willing to travel approximately 25% of the time as business needs dictate
- Ability to/willing to work Eastern Time Zone business hours regardless of remote-base location in the U.S
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a supervisory or management position with direct-report responsibilities
- Experience in data analytics with understanding of value-based care
- Experience maintaining positive relationships with VES colleagues
- Knowledge of the disease and/or data under study and leverages clinical personnel associated with VES
- Agile with understanding of the product development process
- Proven entrepreneurial initiatives, thinking outside of the box and be fluid in daily work

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
