UnitedHealth Group seeks an experienced BI Platform Administrator to help support and grow global people analytics function. This position will help to support the needs of the community, including human capital, talent acquisition, workforce development, employee relations, and many more.  The role will enable governance capabilities, define and manage security and access provisioning, and interface with the user community, business stakeholders, and the application engagement team.  This role will capture and define requirements for the development of new features and techniques needed by the community, as well as troubleshoot existing functionality when needed.  The role will also be accountable for ongoing training on best practices for the BI instances.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with others
• Assist with user management duties including fundamental creation, deactivation, permission configuration, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with the BI development team through various project phases as needed: requirements gathering, solutioning, development, testing, deployment, support, and documentation
• Consult on standard processes for development of new applications and solutions for the BI user community (formulas, flow, workflow, rules, approvals, nomenclature)
• “Keep the lights on” by monitoring for and troubleshooting errors, issues, and bugs
• Execute and lead administration duties and instance-wide application enhancement projects as priorities permit
• Collaborate on efforts with other internal BI instance administrators to promote tool alignment and pertinent integrations
• Maintain a strong community presence and translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences
• Administer multiple BI instances and assist with implementation and maintenance of configurations, security access, release updates, and maintenance of the application
• Provide guidance to community on security protocols and best practices
• Review work of others and provides feedback on execution, best practices, and areas for improvement
• Stay up to date on the latest announcements and innovation from the BI application and other analytic/reporting partners
• Understand the needs of internal customers and use subject matter expertise to guide the community
• Work with the larger cross-functional team and collaborate on the recommended development patterns across the community

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of BI platform/system administration experience
• 3+ years of experience analyzing data and combining datasets to develop reporting products/solutions
• 3+ years of experience working in a matrixed environment, preferably in healthcare
• Able to make updates to existing scripts and processes
• Applied knowledge of SQL and ETL
• Comfortable managing data and users via scripting
• Experience communicating both verbally/written with people at a wide variety of levels in an organization
• Experience gathering requirements from end users
• Experience ingesting and working with large and complex datasets
• Experience with committing code to a code repository (academic or professional)
• Familiarity with data structures and data tables
• Proven BI development skills including workflow, process, flow, reports, formula development, etc.        

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Past or current MajorDomo certification
• 1+ years of modern programming language experience such as Python, Java, Scala (academic or professional)
• Experience in an agile environment or with agile tools such as Rally, Jira, or SwiftKanban
• Experience working in a Human Capital/People Team setting
• SOX compliance experience
• Experience with Power BI

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable.
