As a Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for managing internal communications in support of Optum Whole Health Solutions. This role involves collaborating with business communication leads to curate, review, post, and distribute targeted communications to employees, including newsletters, intranet articles, mass emails, videos, , and event related communications. Additionally, you will maintain an editorial calendar, analyze communication effectiveness, and provide tactical support for communication events.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business communication leads to develop and distribute targeted communications to employees
• Manage an editorial calendar to ensure timely and relevant content delivery
• Maintain and publish content daily across internal communication platforms
• Collect, track, analyze, and report on data to drive improvements and increase communication effectiveness
• Participate in project meetings and collaborate as part of an internal communications team
• Provide tactical support for communication events
• Work with content owners to plan, write, edit, and execute a wide range of communications
• Serve as a trusted partner and work effectively with Optum and UnitedHealth Group Communications partners

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of communication and/or media industry experience
• Solid project management skills, including editorial planning and data analysis
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
• Proven capability in developing, managing, and editing digital channels (corporate intranet, posting, building pages, editing stories) 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge and/or experience using the Associated Press Stylebook 
• Experience working with employee communications platforms (corporate intranet, Opal, SharePoint) 
• Experience collaborating with cross functional teams 

Soft Skills:

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Exceptional collaboration skills with a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic organization
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Proven ability to think strategically and provide timely, tactical guidance to teammates and cross-functional business partners
• Demonstrated ability to operate with discipline and urgency while managing multiple projects
• Proven flexibility and comfort working with ambiguity

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
