We are currently seeking a skilled Content Writer to join our team. As a Content Writer, you will be responsible for analyzing, updating and developing content for our proposal database. You will collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) across various business functions to ensure accurate and comprehensive content. The ideal candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and within a team. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within United States as you take on some tough challenges in a fast paced, winning environment.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Writers and Writing leadership to continually elevate and enhance standardized content that is used in proposal responses
- Analyze and update existing baseline content to capture comprehensive descriptions of processes, approaches and tools
- Interview and work with SMEs in business functions throughout the organization to develop accurate high level Community & State/UnitedHealthcare business content based on common RFP topics
- Research and gather source material to determine the information needed to develop and update content
- Write and edit both existing and new content, consulting with SMEs, other writers and graphic artists to develop baseline proposal content
- Review prior Community & State proposals to extract relevant content for use in baseline content; work with Writers to determine relevant elements and updates
- Draft concise, complete and clear proposal baseline content in accordance with Community & State proposal development standards, stylistic guidelines and formatting conventions
- Inspect, copyedit and quality check own work for clarity; work with Writers, SMEs and proposal leadership to address editing issues
- Effectively convey information about products/services to all audiences
- Participate in individual and group proposal reviews with senior leadership and other key individuals; incorporate changes and improvements to baseline content
- Continually track and report on the status of baseline updates to Writing leadership
- Conduct analysis of competitor proposals to compare content and writing quality
- Support copy editing team throughout proposal process with basic copy editing, in-line editing and strategic editing when needed
- Work within the proposal graphic library to pull in graphic elements that can be modified to enhance baseline content
- Complete work according to deadlines provided by proposal leadership
- Assist in general proposal activities, including editing, proposal assembly and quality assurance, etc., as necessary
- Participate in ongoing continuous improvement of the Community & State baseline proposal development process
- Conduct other business development duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of proposal writing experience
- 3+ years of experience with project management and adherence to deadlines
- 2+ years of RFP baseline content writing experience with relationship management and interviewing skills
- 2+ years of experience with content management software (e.g., Qvidian, Responsive, etc.)

- Proven written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and in groups
- Solid interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English or similar field of study
- Writing experience
- Health care or Medicaid proposal writing experience
- Experience with artificial intelligence writing tools

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
