As Whole Health Solutions Account Manager for the Medicare and DSNP Channel, your ability to understand client needs, your responsiveness, and your exceptional capacity to partner cross-functionally to solve client issues will play an important role in the success of Optum’s Whole Health Solutions business, spanning behavioral health and medical specialty solutions.
This role will be accountable for supporting Whole Health Solutions relationship with UnitedHealth Care’s Medicare & Retirement organization and Optum Health partners; will coordinate with other functions to implement client systems, solve client problems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Addressing client ad hoc requests including claims issues, member escalations, network/provider issues, data and reporting, and other client needs
- Helping address performance improvement opportunities and client strategic projects
- Providing support for oversight & regulatory functions including time-sensitive data sharing & reporting, member communication, etc.
- Supporting client executive-level JOC presentations, including working with key leaders to compile & organize content
- Working with cross-functional partners and implementation team to ensure successful new business and product implementation
- Solving ad hoc challenges & supporting the team in addressing inefficiencies and operational improvements

Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of account management, project management, or related experience
- 2+ years of experience in managed care
- Experience interpreting data, helping others to understand and derive meaning from data, and using data to design solutions that drive meaningful outcomes
- Proficient with MS Office applications
- Proven excellent verbal and written communication, including how to communicate via powerpoint
- Proven predisposed to see problems as challenges to be overcome rather than immovable barriers; willingness to leverage relationship management, ingenuity & persistence to get things done on behalf of our clients and our business
- Proven detail oriented; willing to dig into specifics to validate accuracy & quality of deliverables
- Proven quick learner; ability to learn and retain complex information related to Medicare and DSNP, behavioral health, medical specialty needs, managed care, operations, UHG organization and structure, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Medicare/DSNP population and understanding of CMS regulation
- Experience with mental/behavioral health and preferably medical specialty needs too
- Understanding of UHC and Optum clinical and claims operational systems

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $130,000 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
