Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

·       Serve as the clinical lead for a designated practice area.

·       Partner with administrative dyad to co-lead site operations, financial performance, and quality outcomes.

·       Mentor and coach physicians and APCs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

·       Lead clinical standardization efforts, including evidence-based practice adoption and workflow optimization.

·       Participate in provider and staff recruitment including retention strategies and onboarding.

·       Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement corrective actions as needed.

·       Conduct comprehensive examinations, diagnose conditions, and provide treatment for acute injuries, infections, and illnesses.

·       Educate and counsel patients and their families on acute and chronic health concerns, treatment plans, and preventive care.

·       Develop and implement individualized diagnostic and therapeutic plans based on clinical assessments.

·       Prescribe and administer appropriate medications, therapies, and procedures in accordance with clinical guidelines.

·       Perform minor procedures and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, EKGs, labs, CT scans, ultrasound, MRI, echocardiogram, PFT, urodynamic tests, and more) to inform immediate treatment decisions and recommend appropriate follow-up care.

·       Collaborate with specialists and coordinate with ancillary services to ensure continuity and quality of care.

·       Accurately and promptly complete all required clinical documentation in electronic medical records systems.

·       Uphold and adhere to established clinical quality standards and best practices as defined by the organization.

·       Follows established policies, procedures, objectives, and recommended referral practices. Participates in facility in-services, required training, recruiting, required staff meetings, and other clinic operations procedures. 

·       Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinical best practices.

·       Supervision of advance practice providers and / or physicians including performance reviews,

·       Orientation and training of new practitioners when necessary. Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of support staff as required.

Required Qualifications:

·       Physician: Graduate of an Accredited School of Medicine, MD or DO, currently licensed by the State Board of South Carolina Medical Examiners and Board certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine. Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.

·       APC: Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of South Carolina, and current Board certification. Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.

·       Knowledge of computerized information systems used in business applications and clinical management systems (EMR). Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care.

·       Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment. Accreditation and certification requirements and the ability to maintain all appropriate licenses.

·       Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customers and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Ability to perform duties in accordance with the customary rules of ethics and conduct of the applicable State Board of Medicine and other such regulating bodies. Prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods. Interpret the application of OSHA and HIPAA laws. Maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.  

·       Ability to obtain BLS certification within 90 days of employment. Providers working in the Neurology building are required to have ACLS certification and will support radiology oversight.

The salary range for this role is $237,500 to $387,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
