Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for the overall relationship of existing and potential Institutional Special Needs Plan (ISNP) healthcare partners, spanning throughout Optum business markets in which UnitedHealthcare members reside. This individual will build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with skilled nursing facility (SNF) organizations while delivering a best-in-class client experience. Director of Strategic Partnerships has responsibility for large chain, national accounts that are highly complex and maintain a high membership status. This individual will collaborate with cross functional teams associated with facilities within their assigned book of business to enhance partner engagement and ultimately drive organizational growth and performance. Director of Strategic Partnerships is responsible for aligning partner and business initiatives across markets to implement the overall relationship strategy, with a focus on building solid client relationships and expanding business engagements to ensure long-term continuous partnerships. Establishes and cultivates strategic business relationships with current customers’ key market influencers, stakeholders, and decision makers to grow portfolio of customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and strengthen client relationships while serving as the primary point of contact for overall and day-to-day program delivery
  • Proactively manages external relationships by identifying needs, communicating product/program value proposition, and providing exceptional quality customer service
  • Acts as outward-facing, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact and large accounts
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that strengthen business relationships, drive partner engagement, and align with organizational goals and objectives
  • Manage internal and external communications, deliverables, and expectations across a cross functional account management team to ensure high quality service delivery
  • Represent Client internally and work collaboratively with other functional teams to complete projects, identify relationship barriers, address ongoing service needs and drive issue resolution
  • Facilitate and lead external Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings to review business results and develop action plans for identified opportunities to enhance collaboration
  • Support client success through education of partnership value and identify opportunities for enhanced performance
  • Identify growth opportunities with assigned accounts and ensure an unencumbered transition to local market level execution to broaden and enhance partnership
  • Align overall business growth strategies to include addition of new accounts
  • Analyze activities, outreach results, and industry trends to continually develop and improve processes and systems to enhance business development opportunities to external partners
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in account management or customer-facing sales and marketing, business development, or provider relations
  • General understanding of financial reimbursement methodologies, including pay for performance, incentive-based reimbursement models
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software
  • Proven solid customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to influence others, regardless of reporting structure
  • Proven self-motivation with ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to identify, engage and influence internal stakeholders and customers
  • Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated track record in achieving results
  • Demonstrated time management and multitasking skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Driver’s License and access to a reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in working in a skilled nursing facility, post-acute care, or managed care environment
  • Experience in business development, client management or provider relations
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • B2B experience selling insurance products to key accounts
  • People leader experience
  • Basic knowledge of Medicare guidelines

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
