This role coordinates proposal development activities including drafting proposals for new clients and directing the preparation of supporting documents and analyses. Works closely with sales and other internal functions to tailor proposal responses to reflect prospect’s needs, company interests, and appropriate resources and timelines. Additionally, it is responsible for supporting all proposal development coordinator tasks which include statistical and system-related reports.

This position is full-time, Monday – Friday 40 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and organize own work to meet deadlines
  • Communicate thoughts and ideas-both written and oral-in a clear, concise way that is tailored to the audience
  • Collaborate with internal resources to reflect one core value story and integrated process
  • Thoroughly understand and use all available sales support tools, including SharePoint sites and marketing collateral
  • Use pertinent data and facts to identify and solve a range of problems within area of expertise
  • Analyze and investigate non-standard requests and problems, with some assistance from others
  • Look for opportunities to enhance and streamline workflow process
  • Triage RFP (Request for proposal) mailbox; aggregating information, identifying missing information and route information promptly 
  • Assign proposals and renewal of RFPs on a timely basis 
  • Create RFP activity related reports and ad-hoc reports as needed
  • Inventory RFP questions to support volume reporting

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience with gathering and analyzing critical information in a business development, marketing, or communications role within the healthcare insurance industry to produce meaningful analysis and reporting
  • 1+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office (Microsoft Word (create documents) and Microsoft Excel (Create Documents. Pivot Tables and Formulas)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Prior experience using BenefitConnect
  • Prior experience using SharePoint

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $23.41 to $41.83 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable
