As a Product Owner at Optum, you will be responsible for the inbound product definition activities. Your primary function will require you to develop functional specifications from customers (internal or external). You will drive the detailed requirements, specifications and feature prioritization for the product. You will collaborate with stakeholders to define product roadmaps, providing technical and market insights into the process. You will be an expert in the overall capabilities of the product and will work closely with the development team to roll out a successful product.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with onsite & offshore teams for the requirements analysis & solutions design
  • Play a leading role in managing the product backlog and crafting user stories and sign off on feature acceptance, all the while adhering to the agile process constituted for managing the project
  • Interface with the engineering team assessing capabilities and alternatives and owning the definition and prioritization of product releases
  • Create release notes, demo scripts, conduct feature demos for stakeholders, and conduct product demos for stakeholders/clients.
  • Define and drive product strategy and roadmap for products
  • Clearly articulate product vision, strategy, and roadmap to engineering team effectively as and when needed
  • Collaborate with UX and the engineering team to drive product design
  • Identify and access relevant data to build compelling business cases in self-directed manner
  • Consistent value delivery based on business MBOs |Drive system demo to stakeholders and customers
  • Prioritize backlog at feature and user story level with complete understanding of feature
  • Effective action on feedback received during retro meetings
  • Identify potential issues and proactively develop mitigation plans
  • Build & drive culture of innovation in the portfolio
  • Well versed in Medical or Rx Claims Adjudication
  • Act as a “Feature CEO” for the Product
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Eligibility

  • Minimum of 12 months in the current role.  
  • Not on Active CAP at the time of applying for the IJP
  • Employees designated currently for G26 & G27 can apply for this position
  • Employees must notify their Current Manager before applying for the IJP
  • Last Common Review rating should be Meeting Expectations or Exceeding Expectations

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable about MVP development and product launch
  • Proven skilled at outlining the technical and functional characteristics of the product roadmap
  • Proven well-versed in the healthcare industry, PBM sector, core prescription adjudication system, prescription specialty subsystem, and prescription member workflow
  • Proven to work in conjunction with the stakeholder team to comprehend business needs, translate them into features and user stories, and monitor the product backlog and plan
  • Proven ability to create wireframes, acceptance criteria, and user stories
  • Proven to possess superior communication skills

Preferred Qualification:

  • Mobile and Portal Skillset experience
