The Sr. Implementation Manager is responsible for driving successful project implementations under the leadership and guidance of an Implementation Leader. This role involves leading project teams to achieve key deliverables and operationalizing Federal and State regulatory requirements.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Health Plan, Segment Leaders and Stakeholders to define project scope and key metrics for the implementation of Federal and/or State regulatory requirements
- Read, understand, and assess RFP materials, CMS, and State regulatory requirements to identify and document operational implications
- Oversee project intake, assessment, and funding approvals
- Create and manage project plans, risk trackers, and other standard project management documentation
- Solve complex problems and conduct complex analyses based on data and facts.
- Effectively lead meetings with cross-functional partners to achieve decision-making and action
- Define and document business requirements and process flows
- Proactively anticipate issues and facilitate resolution
- Hold teams accountable and effectively manage through influence to drive results
- Prepare and facilitate presentations and updates to senior leadership on project status and issues
- Drive solutioning and problem-solving across numerous functional areas
- Develop and implement strategies for national configurable solutions that accommodate Federal and State-specific requirements
- Build process frameworks and tools to support project implementation
- Provide general reporting, communication, and process improvements based on best practices and new innovations

Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of project management experience managing multiple projects/tasks to meet contractual deadlines or other time-sensitive commitments
- Demonstrated understanding of Medicaid operational and regulatory expectations
- Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory requirements
- Comprehensive knowledge of managed care health plan experience, including but not limited to claims management and processing, member/provider call center operations, member eligibility, and provider operations
- Prior experience working in a matrixed environment on highly complex projects
- Ability to quickly gain credibility, influence, and partner with business leaders and the health plan community
- Experience developing, applying, and deploying processes, templates, and standards
- Proficient in using Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio at an intermediate level
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Medicaid, CHIP, Long Term Care, DSNP, and/or government health plans
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
