Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as accountable leader for achieving organic growth membership targets aligned to Community & State’s (C&S) annual and long-range goals across both Medicaid and DSNP for a portfolio of C&S health plans through a rigorous datadriven approach. Organic growth is defined as building C&S membership through self-selection and auto assignment pathways as well as retaining membership in the C&S book of business
  • Accountable for progress on market-specific membership goals to forecast, reporting progress to health plan and national Growth leadership, and working with health plan and national Finance teams to set future goals in regular forecasting and Long-Range Model exercises
  • Drive annual bottom’s up build for growth for each health plan in portfolio as a key input to the C&S Long Range Model refresh. Coordinate across partner teams in Growth, including Policy and RFP teams to incorporate all factors for growth in the process
  • Leveraging standard tools and reporting, define, execute, and measure success of market-specific growth plans to achieve success. Plans will be highly targeted to geographies, products, and populations with the largest growth opportunities, and flex over time as those opportunities evolve
  • Establish key performance criteria for each health plan that leverages national scale and assets to execute, tailored for local dynamics. Rigorously and regularly evaluate effectiveness in context of established targets
  • Lead top priority projects tied to clear business objectives and partner with Organic Growth National Strategy team to drive functional partner accountability for key levers for growth, including but not limited to quality, network / provider partnerships, marketing, value-added benefits, and direct member outreach
  • Surface key opportunities for local market Organic Growth Community Engagement that can drive meaningful growth
  • Align local market growth investment strategies to growth plan tactics and broader C&S Growth investment priorities
  • Ensure growth tactics are rigorously evaluated for effectiveness and cost, including positive ROI
  • Partner with the C&S Growth Consumer & Growth Analytics team to define reporting packages that are specific, time-bound, and outcomes-driven, and critically, highlight risk to target achievement as early as possible
  • Report regularly to C&S Growth, Regional, Health Plan and Finance leaders on progress towards achieving targets and execution plans. Quickly develop alternative plans for target achievement if risk develops and put those plans into motion
  • Create and maintain collaborative, strategic relationships with health plan and functional partners to drive open communication, influence priorities, and improve ease and impact of the larger ecosystem in serving our members

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience driving operational growth strategies in the healthcare sectors 
  • 5+ years working with Medicaid and/or DSNP programs or populations

 

Preferred Qualification:

  • MPA, MPP, MPH, MBA or JD

Skills, Capabilities, and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience using data to define priorities and evaluate success  
  • Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to project manage effectively
  • Experience analyzing, tracking, and reporting performance
  • Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and leverage relationships to achieve success  
  • Experience establishing credibility with individuals who do not directly report to position
  • Understanding of Medicaid, DSNP, and DSNP integration

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
