Job Function Description
The Director of United Retiree Solution Implementation Team is responsible for ensuring the client facing employees produce a high-quality implementation experience for all Group Retiree clients and internal UHG partners. Manages the liaison activities between the client and internal UHG teams, ensuring all requirements (regulatory and internal) are met for successful, quality-focused client onboarding.
Director manages a team that represents the voice of the client internally and coordinates with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing needs of the business.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in leadership, strategic planning, and operations. This leader will partner closely with management of both direct and matrix functions to modernize business processes and end user experiences. Innovation and thought leadership to approach business challenges is a must.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Leader over a leader with direct reports, as well as having several high-level individual contributors in implementation manager roles within the Group Medicare Advantage space
- Develop and articulate a clear vision for the implementation team, aligning with the broader organizational goals and ensuring long-term success in the Group Medicare Advantage space
- Lead and manage change initiatives within the team, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to operations while fostering a culture of adaptability and resilience
- Recruit, develop, and strengthen the implementation team and foster a culture of continuous learning, reliable and consistent high performance, and operational excellence
- Foster solid relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and strategic decision-making. Regularly engage with leaders within URS and across the broader organization to share insights, discuss challenges, and align on priorities
- Implement and advance strategies to enhance customer experience as measured by NPS scores and customer satisfaction
- Track, report, and optimize the allocation of resources (FTEs, budget, and technology) to produce the greatest benefit for the business. Maintain and improve line of sight into resource constraints and forecasting capacity modeling
- Use innovation and technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation process, client communications and documentation and strengthen the UnitedHealthcare brand
- Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the stability and reliability of implementation processes and customer satisfaction
- Explore and implement automation to modernize the employer group onboarding experience, while reducing administrative costs
- When able, reduce operational variability and increase self-service availability to customers by influencing prioritization of Phoenix (Salesforce), technology, data integration, and process Roadmaps
- Enhance metric and KPI tracking and augment documentation infrastructure to enable a low effort, highly effective transition of the customer relationship to Account Management
- Provide team with a clear vision of how the team will contribute the overall business goals
- Lead cross functional projects to benefit the overall business, as needed

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of leading people, formal or informal
- 3+ years of Commitment to solutioning for business challenges with an end-to-end approach from the customer’s perspective
- 3+ years of proven presentation skills with the sophistication needed to build credibility with customers and internal matrix partners
- Experience partnering across stakeholders to develop, communicate and execute strategies aligned to shared business objectives
- Familiarity estimating the impact of sales activities on operational functions and profitability
- Proficiency with Copilot, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Proven ability to assess problems and implement solutions based on sound operational and financial principles with the input and collaboration of business partners
- Proven ability to handle complex situation, conflicts, and issues effectively
- Proven influence with constituents without direct authority
- Proven solid interpersonal skills, adaptable with a growth mindset
- Proven organizational agility and natural curiosity
- Proven solid strategic focus, analytical, and internal controls
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in leading change initiatives and driving innovation within an organization
- Medicare and Managed Care work background
- Experience working in Salesforce
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM systems, data analytics tools, and other technologies that support client services and account management
- Proven track record of developing and implementing performance metrics to drive business growth and operational efficiency

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
