The Sr. Director of Provider Product Payment is responsible for the creation of an end-to-end product architecture, and delivery plan for a suite of services in partnership with UHC, UHN and Optum Financial Services. The goal is to facilitate ACH+, consolidating electronic payments from over 450 payers into a single platform and expand ACH across all UHC lines of business through established vendor networks. Additionally, leverage ACH+ to create a longer-term solution that enables real time member payments at the time of service to improve provider recoupment and reduce top abrasion point for providers (member collections).
The Sr. Director of Provider Product Payment will drive integration efforts, align cross-functional teams, and ensure delivery of a seamless, scalable, and value-driven payment experience for providers and consumers alike. This includes spearheading digital transformation efforts to capture and pull through retail capabilities claim estimation and pricing that can be leveraged and expanded upon for collection. Additionally, this role will deep partnership with Optum Financial Services to enable the creation of additional financial services that sit on top of collections. This role encompasses product leadership for our all-payment services, working to define and implement a connected experienced across our portal, telephony, chat and API experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the integration of USP and UNET business, targeting a go-live date of 1/1 with expansion to other lines of business in 2026 and beyond
- Develop and execute the most optimal integration plan with Optum Financial Services (OFS) and vendor partners, including contingency plans to ensure UHC alignment and oversight
- Manage the provider payments team to ensure effective execution and provider preference at the TIN level, including requirement and feature creation in deep partnership with various business stakeholders and OT
- Ensure adaptability in rules to accommodate future changes, such as ASO payments, while managing against contracts to maintain compliance and flexibility
- Collaborate with vendors to identify contracted providers and manage payment pathways
- Address service requests and explore non-transfer solutions to optimize the experience, especially when vendors are leveraged
- Establish end-to-end business and technology solutions to ensure effective provider management of payment details
- Support business case and opportunity development of new financial services offerings to address provider pain points
- Ensure providers are paid within the larger paid provider network, avoiding a fragmented experience by payer, in partnership
- Deliver real value to providers by reducing calls, collections, and enhancing satisfaction
- Explore enrichment opportunities for consumer remittance and reconciliation

- Demonstrated expertise in product ownership and integration management

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $156,400 to $268,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
