As a Capability Owner within Provider Digital Transformation team, you are responsible for gathering clear business requirements in support of the capabilities and tactical planning of development necessary to development of business requirements that support the effective implementation and deployment of new capabilities to meet the business needs. The vision for the Capability team requires the understanding of people, process and technology. Demonstrating the benefits of agile methodologies, business collaboration and engagement and a consistent, repeatable process with deep business knowledge is critical to the success of the Product team. As the key liaison between the business and technical teams, your analysis, documentation and communication skills are critical to exceeding your customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • As the Capability Owner, acts as the domain specialist who owns and drives the vision for the product life cycle
  • Supports end-to-end coordination for product-related activities
  • Assists in creating, documenting and communicating the roadmap, creating buy-in among all stakeholders
  • Serves as the primary liaison between business and technical team, responsible for gathering, documenting and prioritizing business requirements in support of critical business needs
  • Serves as a key SME for all release management activities with Business and IT partners
  • Provides oversight of release activities for the Business, including, but not limited to communication, documentation, training and release notes
  • Works with the Program / Project Manager to ensure all stakeholder needs are addressed in the deployment plan
  • Serves as the SME for User Acceptance Testing activities, including providing support for hands-on testing and troubleshooting when necessary
  • Drives findings through to satisfactory resolution
  • Facilitates business rule configuration planning for the product (regulatory and operational)
  • Spearhead requirements gathering to maximize the potential for business configuration capabilities
  • Supports the implementation of standard processes while working with or as part of multiple project teams 
  • Participates in solution analysis and design meetings for system enhancements and/or implementations
  • Participates in discussions to document Current State/Future State workflows as needed 
  • Provides clear description of problems/issues for medium to high complexity problems 
  • Presents options for problem resolution 
  • Within six months, demonstrates subject matter expertise in at least one functional/application area 
  • Ensures all system business rules and configurations meet regulatory, compliance and operational needs, and facilitates solutions between groups if discrepancies exist
  • Facilitates ad hoc and operational report requirements in the roadmap considering both real time and near real time needs
  • Represents Our United Culture missions and values in all activities, demonstrating exemplary customer service with internal and external team members
  • Models collaborative leadership behavior with the team
  • Works well in a matrix environment across cross – functional teams

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in analyzing, researching, gathering and documenting Business requirements documentation
  • Experience in supporting solution analysis and design meetings
  • Experience in acting as liaison between business and IT
  • Experience working with project with Agile processes, including development of user stories
  • Experience gathering business requirements from client/business stakeholder
  • Experience with process improvement, workflow modeling, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes 
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office (including Visio, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Certification in Product Management or Agile scrum 
  • Experience in payment integrity, claim, and/or provider operations
  • Experience working with test plans and test cases
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating large groups and remote audiences 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to all levels of project governance

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
