The Director position is responsible for overseeing the successful launch and implementation of new products. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project timelines, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various departments including CARE and claim operations, marketing, sales, account management, customers and all other relevant areas to ensure seamless product launches
- Act as an informal leader within the UM product team and beyond
- Ensure product readiness team is pulled into initiatives at the appropriate time to efficiently gather necessary information and understanding for successful implementation
- Leverage a change management methodology, process and tools to create a strategy to support adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative
- Support communication efforts
- Enable the design, development, delivery and management of key communications
- Assess the change impact
- Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders
- Lead and support training efforts
- Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training programs
- Complete change management assessments
- Identify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tactics
- Identify and manage anticipated and persistent resistance. Monitor and adjust approach to achieve buy in from impacted areas
- Consult and coach project teams
- Create actionable deliverables for the core change management plans: Sponsor Plan, People Manager Plan, Communications Plan, and Training Plan
- Create actionable deliverables for any required “Extend” plans, such as the Resistance Management Plan
- Support and engage senior leaders
- Coach people managers and supervisors
- Support organizational design and definition of roles and responsibilities
- Coordinate efforts with other specialists
- Integrate change management activities into the project plan
- Evaluate and ensure user readiness
- Manage stakeholders
- Track and report issues
- Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress
- Support change management at the organizational level
- Manage the change portfolio
- Ensures that project documentation is current and communicated to applicable stakeholders
- Monitors and evaluate product performance on an ongoing basis, using applicable performance metrics
- Manages complex projects in a self-directed manner
- Support RFP responses

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in UMR
- 5+ years of experience working in a complex matrixed work environment with competing priorities
- 4+ years of experience working on product, product enhancement, innovation projects and/or creative projects
- 4+ years of experience leading training or leading change management
- 2+ years of project management experience
- Experience developing customer facing marketing material
- UMR Utilization Management knowledge
- Proven excellent Microsoft Excel or similar program skills
- Proven Microsoft Visio or similar program skills
- Proven solid analytical skills with the ability to organize, analyze, QA, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and influence others
- Proven solid presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of project management
- Utilization Management and/or Affordability product initiative experience
- End to End clinical to claims experience
- Experience working with Agile teams

The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
