POSITION SUMMARY:
The VP, Provider Product Strategy & Integrated GTM, is charged with managing OI‘s provider product and innovation portfolio and coordinating investments and innovation across market teams. We provide our provider customers with the latest in innovative solutions that are aimed at eliminating friction in the healthcare system. This senior executive will work across Optum and UHG.
The senior executive is expected to be a liaison across all UHG, Optum business segments, OI Provider Markets, OI Operations, Finance and Optum Tech to maximize growth, optimize investments and maintain product lifecycle. There are four critical areas of oversight for this leader.
Product strategic management
- Strategically overseeing all products in the provider business portfolio.
- Defining integrated strategies & ensuring alignment with the provider market’s overall strategy.
- Defining strategies & integrated provider roadmaps to prioritizing products effectively.
- Work closely with OI Portfolio function to drive portfolio decisions regarding product lifecycle changes.
- Conducting strategic planning for the portfolio.
- Identifying market opportunities and developing new product ideas.
- Collaborating with product managers to align strategies and roadmaps with market goals.
Commercialization strategies
- Manage a portfolio of external client community efforts (e.g., customer advisory boards, university collaboration).
- Lead market and product collaboration via experts and deal support.
Transformation strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather & prioritize client requirements.
- Coordinated GTM efforts across OI provider product organization.
Additional responsibilities
- Serves as an Executive partner to senior leaders across OI Provider to engage in product strategies.
- Driving disruptive innovation and pushing the organization to act to deliver capabilities that enable growth.
- Establishes a shared product, solution, or service vision for the provider business by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution, and ensuring that the product, solution, or service is aligned with Optum Insight’s strategic and competitive position, and other
- related/interfaced product, solution, or service.
- Provide exceptional people leadership with a focus on engaging, developing, and retaining key executives as well as attracting top talent into the organization.

Required Qualifications:
- 15 or more years of combined experience and a proven record of launching large-scale product innovations and delivering measurable results.
- Proven ability to analyze complex market opportunities and develop creative solutions to a wide variety of unique market problems.
- Demonstrated track record of active collaboration, engagement, oversight, and strategy development of key growth opportunities.
- Skilled in organizational development, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
- Experience managing a team of high-performing leaders supporting a portfolio of ideation and incubation initiatives.
- Demonstrated visionary thinking and ability to translate business strategies that create or sustain competitive advantage.
- A demonstrated record of acting as an innovative thought leader and business partner to executives across multiple business units.
- Experience motivating, developing, coaching, and guiding people in a matrixed organization through change.
- Experience managing a team plus indirect staff across multiple geographies.
- Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment to Optum’s Vision and Values.
- Available for limited business travel (approx. 25%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Business Administration preferred.
- 15+ years of combined experience in strategy & financial planning and leading strategic go-to-market initiatives of diverse scope in a large matrixed healthcare services, strategy consulting or software company.
- Experience supporting Provider Markets.

The salary range for this role is $191,800 to $364,800 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
