UnitedHealthcare is seeking a highly experienced and driven Senior Director of Product Management – Payment Integrity. The Senior Director position has responsibility for Product Management activities specific to advancing the technology strategy and delivery of solutions that support the affordability, and the claim edit modernization agendas for Payment Integrity. The Senior Director is responsible for establishing and driving product strategy and roadmap execution, leading a team responsible for delivering measurable improvements aligned to business goals. This position will lead from the front and design the future of healthcare today by delivering innovation that revolutionizes the health care experience.
This position will work in a highly matrixed environment across UHC Operations, Optum and IT to define, align and execute on Data, Technology and Process strategies required to make a significant impact on the lives of millions of people by helping build the healthcare system of tomorrow, making it easier and improving overall experiences

Primary Responsibilities:
- Product and Platform Management: Effectively communicates the product and platform vision for key enterprise capabilities to product, engineering, business, and operations teams. Know the relationship between product capabilities, applications to drive adoption roadmap of strategic platforms; able to influence, evangelize and foster reuse across portfolios; partner with key stakeholders to develop OKR’s (measure what matters) and inform technology priorities for transformation with the least tech debt; provide guidance and direction to product strategy and roadmaps
- Technical Acumen: Using technical knowledge to influence the Product Vision, Technology Strategy, and Architecture continuum; Influences Product Management Roadmap and Provides Cross functional Leadership across engineering and product teams; Evangelizes best practices, processes, and tools; Sets the Guiding Principles and Strategy for developing product on platforms
- Radius of Influence: Represent Payment Integrity platform strategies and execution to stakeholders in Technology, Optum and UnitedHealthcare Business, Product and Operations. Develop a co-creation engagement model that drives progress on OKRs; takes setbacks and failures as learnings to the next iteration of actions and decisions
- Leadership: Lead the strategy across Operations, focusing on product perspective and ensuring seamless integration and execution. Solid intellectual curiosity and drive to understand complex and emerging technology; passionate about building products on platforms; remains comfortable and resilient in difficult conversations with executive leaders; anticipates adversity, stays focused and rebounds quickly; provides a steady hand in difficult situations and inspires others; acts as a coach to all teams; has a continuous talent pipeline and attracts top talent; demonstrates organizational agility
- Strategic Planning: Oversee the strategic planning and execution of enterprise initiatives for the payment integrity product, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Collaboration: Work closely with operational and product leadership, technology teams, and various business partners to ensure the successful delivery of initiatives
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance productivity across the organization, driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Execution: Drive the execution of strategic initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
- Results-Oriented: Focus on delivering measurable results that drive the success of the Payment Integrity products and contribute to the overall goals of the organization while aligning with the overarching enterprise strategy
- Change Management: Co-develop a high performing product model across all disciplines and partner with internal and external business stakeholders to enable seamless omni-channel experiences for those we serve. Anticipate barriers of adoption of the enterprise capabilities and drive strategies that will enable product engineering teams to benefit from the reuse and streamlined capabilities

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in strategic planning, enterprise strategy, or a related field
- 10+ years of product development, ownership and/or (tech) product management experience
- 5+ years in a leadership role focused on healthcare operations – claim, call, enrollment, provider, payment integrity, etc.
- Proven leadership and management experience: Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and management capabilities
- Communication: Proven superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Analytical and Critical Thinking: Proven solid analytical and critical thinking skills for complex problem-solving
- Collaboration: Proven ability to foster cross-functional teamwork in a collaborative environment
- Strategic Vision and Execution: Ability to define and champion the enterprise strategy across all provider products
- Project Management: Proficiency in project management methodologies, with demonstrated success in driving large-scale strategic initiatives

The salary range for this role is $150,200 to $288,500 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
