Join us in supporting projects and resources that drive the successful implementation of diverse programs, all in support of our Core Operations. Apply your business knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare products, along with Federal regulations while coordinating activities across a highly matrixed team of professionals who share a common purpose – serving our beneficiaries.
As a Capability Manager, you will:
- Collaborate Closely with Operational Teams: Work alongside various operational teams to develop new processes and translate them into clear, concise, and standardized documents
- Drive Engagement: Ensure alignment on requirements and approach by engaging with technology and operations teams to achieve desired business outcomes
- Utilize Your Analytical and Communication Skills: Leverage your excellent analytical and communication skills to accurately document complex requirements and operational procedures
The ideal candidate will have strong business knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare products, a deep understanding of Federal regulations, and the ability to work effectively within a matrixed team environment. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently, ultimately benefiting the communities we serve.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document future state requirements for technology programs
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to gather detailed business needs.
- Develop clear and concise requirement documents, including functional specifications, capabilities, use cases, and process flows
- Ensure that all documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with business objectives
- Collaborate with business leaders, project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure a shared understanding of requirements
- Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to ensure alignment and clarity
- Assist in the design and evaluation of technology solutions to meet business needs
- Provide input on system design, data flows, and integration points
- Analyze and validate requirements throughout the program lifecycle to ensure they are met
- Participate in testing activities to ensure solutions meet the defined requirements and quality standards
- Participate in the development of project plans, timelines, and resource allocation
- Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders
- Provide support and troubleshooting for implemented solutions
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the business analysis function
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices to enhance the quality of deliverables

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Capability Manager or Business Analyst, with a focus on writing requirements for technology programs
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Comprehensive understanding of Value Based Contracting and the impact on operational practices and processes
- Solid understanding of business processes, systems, and technology
- Proficiency in requirement management tools and software (e.g., JIRA, Rally, Microsoft Visio)
- Proven excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Proven exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
- Proven solid attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of Medicare and Medicaid Operations, Federal and State Regulations, and Processes
- Understanding of Value Based Care Contracting and Reimbursement Methodologies
- Proven high level of organization and the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
