Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage with cross-functional teams to understand current and desired future states, utilizing business tools to create illustrations for business and IT partners to define capabilities and solutions
  • Leverage agile methodology tools to refine capabilities/features through definition, grooming, solutioning, development, integrated testing, and deployment, while enabling appropriate engagement from product owners, subject matter experts, and stakeholders
  • Accurately translate technical terms and concepts to non-technical stakeholders; effectively represent technical challenges and opportunities to internal stakeholders; leverage insights to adjust timelines and resource allocation
  • Align capability roadmap with related business strategies and articulate a logical, iterative approach to delivering against the plan
  • Translate clinical business needs into capabilities and requirements for governance approval and development by technology teams
  • Work with multiple partners throughout the capability lifecycle
  • Partner with development teams and business stakeholders to refine and define the capabilities and features of a product prior to development and release
  • Build relationships with customers to deeply understand their needs
  • Partner with key subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify value-add enhancements to existing capabilities
  • Manage issues, risks, project work, and deliverables, engaging appropriate resources and providing recommendations and action steps
  • Participate in technology evaluation and selection across the capability/product landscape, acting as the owner of business requirements while ensuring the right technical tools align with the enterprise technology strategy
  • Provide a clear description and outline of product capabilities and features, establishing acceptance criteria for easy comprehension by the development team
  • Partner closely with the development team on agile product development and communicate the status of capability development to business stakeholders
  • Lead demos on behalf of senior capability leaders and business customers leveraging the product
  • Participate in agile ceremonies appropriately
  • Maintain a customer feedback loop with stakeholders and SMEs concerning product release, spanning internal and external customer perspectives

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare working in operations or supporting project or process implementations
  • 1+ years of Project Management experience, including prior experience in successfully managing one or more major projects integrating multiple business areas or systems
  • Experienced Agile practitioner who has functioned as a capability manager or a product owner
  • Intermediate or greater proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with clinical business needs and technology development processes
  • Proven solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget
  • Currently working in UHC Operations & Experience

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
