This role is with Starship, a division of Optum Financial focused on making benefits better through human-centered design and product innovation. We are seeking an experienced senior content designer to write and design in-app content for our benefits experiences. This person needs to be a versatile content designer who can think strategically about information architecture across systems, write informed UX copy for headers, labels, buttons, and modals, as well as understand holistic content strategy.

You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Craft clear, compelling UX copy that guides users through the product experience and helps them achieve their goals
• Create and grow content standards and guidelines across the organization
• Deliver a consistent voice and tone across all user touchpoints of the product
• Partner with cross-functional teams like user research, product management, engineering, and product marketing to investigate issues and solve problems efficiently
• Think holistically about the end-to-end user experience, conducting audits as needed, to develop a cohesive content strategy and information architecture
• Serve as an advocate for content design across the organization

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of content design or UX writing experience
• 3+ years of experience using quantitative and qualitative user research to inform UX copy, navigation, information architecture, and content hierarchy
• 3+ years of experience collaborating closely with designers, product managers, and engineers
• 3+ years of experience working with content guidelines and helping set content standards
• Portfolio demonstrating content design experience and user-focused product thinking

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working in fintech or healthcare industries
• Experience with a string manager or content management system
• Experience with a/b testing and experimentation
• Proven growth mindset and comfort working in ambiguity
• Proven positive energy and a desire to create team culture in a remote-first world

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
