Optum is seeking a Director of Clinician Development to join our Home-based Medical Care team. Optum is a clinician-led care organization, that is creating a seamless health journey for patients across the care continuum.
As a member of the broader Home and Community Care team, you’ll help bring home-based medical care to complex, chronic patients. This life-changing work helps give older adults more days at home.

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:
- Establish curriculum and lead the development of sr. clinical service managers and clinical service managers
- Develop curriculum of leadership growth plans
- Drive content development with the Education Team
- Ownership of Sr. Management and Management playbooks and new hire roadmaps
- Ownership of monthly Manager calls
- Perform in-market mentoring of managers
- Onboard new managers
- Work with senior leadership including providing updates and communicating needs

Required Qualifications:
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience
- 5+ years of experience in a manager or director position
- 3+ years of experience in training/education of adult learners
- Proficiency in MS Office with solid PowerPoint and Excel experience along with analysis and presentation skills
- Experience growing and mentoring others
- Performance management experience
- Availability to travel domestically up to 25%
- Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you’ll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
