UnitedHealthcare is seeking an experienced consumer insights leader to join our Strategic Insights team. This leadership position will report to the VP of UnitedHealthcare Insights and will contribute to our Strategic Insights team, with an increasingly important leadership role in driving growth, accelerating customer-driven decision making, and enabling the mission to help people to live healthier lives and help make the health system better for everyone.
This position will be responsible for delivering actionable insights for the UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual Business (including Individual and Family Plans, and Ancillary and Individual plans) to improve customer acquisition and retention, ultimately to drive business growth. This leader will be responsible for building relationships with E&I senior leadership in order to drive team growth and visibility, for directing and cultivating a high performing team, and for communicating insights to all levels of E&I leadership to influence business strategy and action to improve member experience, drive customer acquisition and retention, and to drive business growth.
You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Craft and execute the annual E&I, IFP and A&I research plan aligned to the E&I strategic business plan, aligned to key business priorities and that uncovers actionable recommendations that improve experiences and drive growth
- Guide ~$2-2.5M of E&I, IFP and A&I research annually
- Set vision for and manage productivity of a high-performing team of 4 researchers across multiple levels of leadership
- Execute and guide team to deliver actionable customer, consumer, competitive, provider and member insights across primary and secondary research projects
- Navigate enterprise and build/maintain relationship with E&I senior leaders
- Collaborate with UHC insights leaders, NPS insights leaders, external research partners, and LOB analytics and VOC teams to deliver connected insights
- Deliver holistic quarterly insights reporting deliverable with synthesized insights across trends, primary, secondary, VOC, NPS, brand insights and analytics
- Collaborate closely with the E&I strategy, market sizing and market intelligence function to deliver connected insights and a shared research plan aligned to core growth opportunities
- Oversee management of insights knowledge management and drive adoption among business partners

Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in consumer insights
- B2B insights experience
- Proven solid people management experience and leadership skills
- Proven solid analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proven solid communicator comfortable sharing insights with leaders across the organization
- Proven effective at building relationships with senior leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years experience leading high performing team
- Competitive intelligence research experience and expertise
- Proven solid ability to influence consumer-centricity in a legacy B2B business

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
